Ghost Tours – Ships & Slipways

16th October - 6th November 2026
The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Step into the shadows of the Historic Dockyard Chatham on an immersive, torch-lit ghost tour designed to take you beyond the standard visitor route.

Uncover chilling truths and eerie legends from across the site’s past as our guides share verified accounts of historic deaths alongside supernatural stories passed down by Dockyard workers over generations.

Uncanny tales of land and sea await as you journey around the shadowy slipways before stepping aboard our historic ships after dark. Feel the shift in atmosphere as you hear about the infamous “Half man” of HMS CAVALIER and the mysterious red-headed ghost of HMS GANNET, well known to the boys who once called the vessel home. These historic ships may have retired from active service, but some of their former inhabitants do not seem to have gotten the message.
